Gear & Resources
All the gear and resources we use each day in our business
We're always asked what we use, whether it's filming equipment, software or gadgets around the office that we couldn't be without so we've listed everything we can think of on this page.
If we missed anything reach out to us and we'll add it.
We ONLY recommend and list things we're using ourselves and yes, many of the links below are affiliate links meaning if you click and purchase through our links we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Live Streaming
Ecamm Live
(Mac)
Ecamm Live is hands down the best live streaming platform for mac.
Restream
(Web)
Combined with Ecamm, Restream allows you to go live to multiple destinations at once. You get 25% discount and $19 off with this link!
StreamYard
(Web)
StreamYard is our favourite alternative to Ecamm for PC users. It's easy to use and you don't need to download anything as it's web-based.
Video Editing
Final Cut Pro
(Mac)
This is our preferred video editor. It's powerful and feature-rich with many pljug-ins available. This is Pro software though so be prepared for a steep learning curve!
ScreenFlow
(Mac)
This is our recommended video editor on Mac. It's easier to use than Final Cut and does an incredible job of screen recording and allowing you to create top-level software tutorial videos.
Filmora
(Mac & PC)
If you're on a PC this is our preferred video editor and functions very much like iMovie.
Video Graphics
Keynote
(Mac)
For Ecamm frames, animated overlays and other whizzy things, Keynote is our go-to software, it's incredibly versitile.
Envato Elements
(Web)
If we need something more than we can make in Keynote then Envato is our go-to platform where we have an annual subscription.
Music
Envato Elements
(Web)
We'd use this more for sound effects but our subscription includes music too so we use it as a backup to Soundstripe.
Soundstripe
(Web)
There are many royalty-free music libraries, we used a few and this is our preferred provider due to the quality, range and ease of use.
YouTube Growth
TubeBuddy
(Web)
If you're going to take YouTube seriously you're going to want a subscription to TubeBuddy! It's incredible for helping you find the best video titles and checking the SEO strength of your videos before you post them. You can get 20% off any plan using this link :-)
